2 Columbus marketers who are killing it (and what we can learn) | CMJ June 1 - 5

Happy June! Time is flying. Before getting into the roles, I wanna share 2 awesome lessons from people I met this week (both are Columbus marketers!)

Both embody to a T what it means to be a successful Columbus Marketer, and there’s lessons we can learn from both on how to be attractive to employers, grow your career, and also, enjoy your freakin life.

Kennedy works in marketing at Envisage Wealth in Columbus, is in her mid-20s and does something most people our age don’t: she shares her real life on LinkedIn. She's confident in what she brings to the table. She doesn't take rejection personally. She stays diversified in her skills and lets work serve her life instead of the other way around.

She enjoys her current role and gets the most out of it whilst keeping an open mind about the future. We can all learn something from Kennedy.

Kristina teaches marketing at Otterbein University. She holds five college degrees(!), has lived in three countries, speaks multiple languages, and somehow makes time for genuine curiosity in everything. She works more than almost anyone I know, but she does it because of fascination, not desperation. And because she's actually interested in things, opportunities find her.

What I learned: when you see people who seem to be having an easier time with consistently, they usually know something.

I’m consistently blown away by the quality and genuine nature of the people who do what we do here in Columbus. It’s a constant reminder to keep getting out there, having conversations, and learning from those around us.
